SeaSalt SuperStore was founded to bring old world gourmet foods, exotic spices and hand crafted natural sea salts to the gourmet food customers.

As our name implies the main focus of our product line is natural Sea Salt. We specialize in high quality, hand crafted, artisan sea salts, but we also carry blended sea salts, exotic peppers and peppercorns, rare spices, specialty teas, unique honeys, savory dipping sauces and delicious appetizers from every corner of the world. Our products are not manufactured by huge conglomerate agri-businesses, most of our products are hand crafted by small family businesses that have been doing what they do for generations. This is especially true of the many natural gourmet sea salts we carry. Such a wide variety of sea salts was common until the early 1900's, when Morton's used an evaporator to make salt white, fine, uniform and inexpensive. Demand for the more expensive hand-harvested sea salt declined for several decades until renewed interest in traditional sea salt harvesting began with the back-to-the-earth movement of the late 1980's when many consumers became concerned about the unhealthy effects of highly refined processed foods. The trend towards organic natural food products is even more popular today.

The small specialty producers of organic food products are making a comeback here in America, while in the rest of the world the small specialty farmers and salt makers have continued their family's traditions of producing organic foods going back for generations.
